As part of our work related to sustainable investment, we have received certain recognition and are engaged in several initiatives and collective pledges.

Committed to action

Storebrand is a signatory to several international and national-level commitments aimed at advancing sustainable development. We have been honoured to receive several awards and recognitions for our work in the field of sustainable investments. Several of these are detailed here.

Selected memberships and awards

Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index 2024

Effective as of December 23rd, 2024, Storebrand was ranked in the top 10% most sustainable listed company globally, as measured in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index. This global benchmark by S&P Dow Jones Indices ranks companies on ESG performance using its assessment methodology.

The Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index.results for 2025 are expected to be published in April 2026.

GRESB

Storebrand's Real estate portfolio has been awarded 5 of 5 GRESB stars, meaning that we rank within the top 20% globally in this measure.GRESB is an ESG benchmark for real assets (real estate & infrastructure), providing independent, validated assessments and a 1–5 star rating. Top ratings indicate sector-leading management and performance used by institutional investors.

PRI

We are signatories of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), a UN-supported network of investors that commits signatories to integrate ESG factors into investment decisions through six principles.

UN Global Compact

Since July 2000, we have been a member of the United Nations Global Compact. This UN corporate sustainability initiative, is built on ten principles covering human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. Members report their progress on these issues, annually. 

Science-based Targets Initiative

The Science-based Targets Initiative (SBTI) is a global standard-setter that defines and validates science-based corporate climate targets. Storebrand has an SBTi-validated committment to reduce its Scope 1–2 GHG emissions by 52% by 2030.
